Mariam was born in Baghdad, Iraq and immigrated to the U.S. with her family at age four. Having lived in Washington state for a majority of her life, she graduated from the University of Washington Bothell in 2019 with a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Arts.

Mariam is a member of the Alliance’s Finance & Operations team. She provides support across teams for payments, gift entry, and reporting for staff, school accounts and donors. She also coordinates the Alliance’s office infrastructure.

She has extensive experience in the nonprofit sphere, ranging from food banks to art museums. During her time at UW Bothell, she was an editor and board member of Clamor, a student led art and writing journal to showcase the diverse talent of alumni, students, and faculty.

Mariam enjoys spending time with her husband, new puppy Ivy, reading, and social media content creation as a creative outlet.
